Clean Health Carpet Care's
Carpet Maintenance Program

Custom Carpet Maintenance

The Carpet & Rug Institute encourages facility managers, designers, maintenance personnel and any others responsible for commercial carpet maintenance to develop and sustain a complete maintenance program for all commercial facilities. Clean Health Carpet Care's maintenance experts can custom design a program specific to your facility and your needs.

A complete carpet maintenance program must include detailed work instructions for the three major maintenance categories: preventative, daily and periodic.

Preventative maintenance includes the installation and care of entry mats and the intial color and pattern selection of the facility carpeting.
Entry mats function as the first defense for loose soils, and dirt that are carried into the facility. As your employees and visitors walk across these mats, those loose soils become trapped in the fibers of the mats. Your facility may require these mats throughout the year or seasonally depending upon location and traffic. We can recommend the size and style of mats for your needs.
It is extremely important to include maintenance of these mats into your daily and periodic cleaning tasks.

The most important task in your daily carpet maintenance is vacuuming. It is the most cost efficient and effective way to prolong the life of your flooring investment. Up to 80% of dry soil can be removed from your carpeting by vacuuming daily. Our maintenance specialists can create a daily plan for your staff based on traffic patterns and volume in your facility.

Periodically scheduled carpet cleaning will remove those soils that are not able to be removed through vacuuming or localized spot cleaning. This is typically the most overlooked category in facility maintenance. The Carpet and Rug Institute recommends a monthly or as needed cleaning of all high traffic zones.
Even with proper preventative maintenance, soil will begin to build up in carpeting. Often this soil has characteristics that allow it to adhere to the carpet. Therefore it can’t be removed by dry methods (vacuuming).
